Clothing & Suggested Packing list
CLOTHING:
The weather in Israel in October is usually very pleasant. Daytime temperatures are usually 75-85 degrees and evening temperatures are usually 55-60 degrees. So you will want to pack some lighter clothes for touring during the day and warmer clothes for the evenings. It is always a good idea to have layers so that you can adjust for warmer or cooler than normal temperatures. Our hottest day is likely to be the day we visit the dead sea area. You should be prepared for a hot day.
Also, there is a lot of walking on the tour so bringing comfortable walking shoes is highly recommended.
Sunglasses, hats, and sunscreen are a must as it is often very sunny.
Israel is very casual so casual clothing including shorts, t-shirts, and sandals are fine.
Jerusalem is in the mountains and can sometimes get quite cool, especially at night.
Dress Required for certain religious sites. A few of the sites that we will visit at request that visitors be dressed modestly. This generally means that shoulders are covered (no sleeveless shirts) and pants or skirts below the knees. Women can bring a shawl or wrap around skirt to temporarily cover while visiting these sites. For men, I recommend having the zip-leg pants that make it easy to switch between pants and shorts. We will let you know the night before visiting these sites so that you can be prepared.
Washing Clothes In Israel
The hotels do not have washing machines and they generally do not have laundry services.
However, Jerusalem has several laundry services that will pick up your clothing at the hotel, wash, dry, and fold it and return it to the hotel within 24 hours. The cost is about US$37 for up to 22 pounds of laundry
